Powell’s Economic Speech on Friday: Annually, there is a symposium in Jackson Hole where economists and central bankers meet to discuss economic issues and policy options. This year’s symposium is titled “Reassessing the effectiveness and Transmission of Monetary Policy”. Man does that sound fun! Powell will give the markets another wink at cutting rates, but he will emphasize being prudent not to rekindle inflation.
